Transport Strategy

The core transport strategy for the proposed development is to maximise the use of walking, cycling and public transport through the following measures:- Improved site access to the wide range of public transport services

- High quality landscaping, cycle and pedestrian routes connecting to existing facilities

- New cycle parking facilities for residents, as well as the wider community

- Car club spaces on Needleman Street

- The implementation of a Green Travel Plan

Walking and Cycling

- A new public cycle facility will be located on site A3 adjacent to Canada Water Underground Station which will include storage for 60 cycles for use by the wider community

- Secure cycle parking for the residential units are provided at basement level

Parking

- Approx 174 basement car parking spaces are proposed within three car parks under A1, A2 and A3

- 20% disabled car parking

Site Access

- Vehicular access from Surrey Quays Road and Needleman Street

- The scheme proposes two internal access roads: Swan Road and Clack Street

Servicing and Waste

- Residential servicing and waste collection will be undertaken on Clack Street and Swan Road, whilst deliveries made by smaller transit vehicles will take place within the basement

- A one-way service vehicle route will connect Clack Street and Swan Road

- Retail servicing will take place via a lay-by within the site adjacent to the retail units and accessed from Surrey Quays Road
